I decided to join this diet competition last Friday with a handful of friends and family (and a ton of other people that I don’t know at all). The premise is pretty neat… you put your money in the pot (ours was $10) and the goal is to lose 4% of your body weight in 4 weeks. At the end, you split the pot with whomever succeeds and those that don’t get nothing. Apparently, the potential to lose money is a greater motivator than the potential to gain money… or so they say.
Well, I decided I should get my cookie fix in before it officially started and nothing beats a peanut butter cookie laced with that excellent chocolaty nutella taste. I’m not going to pretend like these were the easiest things to make. They took a little bit of effort and time to get prepared and they most definitely didn’t come out looking like a bakery quality cookie, but they sure as hell did taste amazing.
You don’t want to skip the chilling stages of this recipe. It is a lot easier to work with and doesn’t crumble apart as much after a quick 30 minute chill. In the future, I’d probably opt for the easier version of this recipe (Peanut Butter Blossoms)… or I would just go at the cookie dough log raw with a spoon… you really can’t go wrong.
Simple peanut butter cookie recipe with a Nutella twist (pun intended... sorry).
