Oreo Truffles

June 9, 2012 by Chris 5 Comments

It’s been a while since I’ve made anything as addicting as these Oreo truffles, but I felt that it was time to use one of these Friday cheat days on something deliciously chocolaty.

My first encounter with these was at a birthday shindig a few weeks back… where I managed to pass on them out of some miraculous show of willpower and self control. As the creator explained the simplicity of the ingredients, my desire to devour them increased. Cream cheese and chocolate are as good together as peanut butter and jelly.

If you haven’t seen these things before, you may actually think I did a good job constructing them, but after a quick googling you will realize that it is possible to make them perfectly spherical. I suppose if I had enough practice to make them look that good, I would weigh about 100 pounds more… so I am content with my amateur chocolate dipping skills.

Considering how incredibly easy it was to make these, I believe cheesecake has finally found a rival at the top of my dessert list… I predict a lot more Oreo truffles in my future.

These look great. Do you soften the cream cheese first?

After these are made, do they need to be refrigerated until served?
